Modernista provides carefully selected and restored original furniture and lighting, both from the former Czechoslovakia and from abroad. Close business contacts with France, Belgium, Scandinavia and the USA allow us to offer our local customers not only some of the best pieces ever manufactured in this country, but also Modernist pieces designed abroad and rarely available on the Czech market. All of the original pieces displayed in the gallery or on our Internet pages have been painstakingly and expertly restored. Lacquers and veneers are newly applied, upholstery replaced often using original techniques and materials, and where necessary chrome surfaces are rechromed. Only collectors' or Museum pieces whose value and authenticity could be damaged by extensive restoration are left in their original state.
