FATRA inflatable dog Bulík, toy by Jan Čapek

In 2013 FATRA returned to working with designers, who created original inflatable toys for the company in the form of animals, vehicles, and balls. The collection was first presented at Designblok '13, the Prague design and fashion week.

The Bulík Dog toy is made after a design by the designer Jan Čapek, winner of the Czech Grand Design prize, Designer of the Year 2013.

Jan Čapek (*1976)

He studied at SUPŠ Turnov, in gemstone cutting and engraving, at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, Faculty of Art and Design, at UMPRUM Prague in Metal and Jewelry, and subsequently in Design.
For two years he worked at the Electrolux European Design Center (2nd place in a worldwide competition for design students, for a washing machine designed for men). For Karlovarské minerální vody he originally designed a case for the Pininfarina glass bottle, and then the whole portfolio of PET bottles. Breweries in the Plzeňský Prazdroj group use glasses he designed for Radegast and Velkopopovický Kozel, and they bottle the beer in several PET bottles he designed.
Alongside his own design work, he currently heads the Product Design Studio at the university in Ústí nad Labem. He is one of the authors of the new inflatable toys, the Dog and the Formula, for FATRA Napajedla.
