Modernista now offers a unique wooden kit. This set of blocks, newly manufactured by French toy company Vilac, was designed by Czech toy designer and educator Ladislav Sutnar in the 1940s. Children can build and endlessly configure the colourful industrial city with 25 blocks, chimneys and cars from the Factory Town set. The original design is represented in MoMA's collection and was featured in the museum's 2012 exhibition Century of the Child: Growing by Design, 1900-2000. Ages 2+. Made of MDF, solid wood and plywood. Packaged in a wooden box.

From cutlery to posters... through glassware, porcelain sets, book graphics, posters, toys, typography, textile design, commercial design, applied objects, even painting on canvas. Ladislav Sutnar's work spans all areas of modern lifestyle. He is one of the most significant figures of Czech interwar modernism. He significantly influenced the development of applied design not only in this country, but also in America, where he worked since 1939.
